Replacement Headlamp Assembly

My truck is actually a 69, this question is about my motor home that uses the headlamp assembly from an 04 to 08 F150. They are badly fogged, I buffed them and coated them once and it took about 2 months for them to fog again.

Given the size of this beast and how much distance it takes to stop, I'd like the best lights I can get. I am not keen on HID since most of the kits are not really properly designed and tend to blind oncoming vehicles, but if there was a proper set I would consider it.

I can get a set of after market replacements, but wanted to know if anyone had experience with the HALO lights. I am only interested in better vision, nothing will make this think look cool (for that I blow my money on the 69).

IMHO Halo lights only look good on BMWs. If your thinking of putting Halos on your motor home then you may as well buy one of the HID kits. If you purchase the right one and set them up correctly they won't blind oncoming traffic as bad as you think. The best is to retrofit them into projector housings, but that gets really expensive really quick. You can buy aftermarket housings that look exactly like OEM for pretty decent prices. There is no guarantee that they won't haze over badly too though. I'm sure if you do enough searching you could even buy some factory OEM housing for a pretty good price as well.

FWIW, halo's are projectors and projectors + halogen bulbs usually = less usuable light output.

Halogen bulbs tend to shine the best in a reflector housing like the stock assemblies. I just picked up a set of DOT approved aftermarket assemblies (a pair) for about $100 shipped to my door.

Projectors look cool, but I'd go HID in them if you really want the best performance and light output.

I ended up getting...burned. The old saying "you get what you paid for" applies. Luckily the company stood by their (defective) product and is refunding my money.

We carry the replacement headlights for a 04-08 F150. You could just purchase new lights and toss a better set of bulbs in them.

That's what I did on my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I bought our lights and got a set of Silver Star Ultras. They work pretty good.

Here's a link to the headlights on our site. Ford F150 headlights

Thanks for the link Tony, unfortunately you're pricing is about 1/3 again higher than the other site sponsor I used to get Ford factory headlights from.
