thinking about doing a suspension lift on my 2000 XLT 3.0 V6 auto, and all the kits that I have found are for manual trannys. I only want about 2 inches, about where a stock 4wd sits, so if you got any suggestions, let me know
You must be looking in all the wrong places because when it comes to suspension lifts it doesn't matter if you have a manual or an auto. Suspension lifts start out with the 2.5 inch which is fairly expensive because you have to replace the upper control arms and springs and front shocks. The 3 inch spindle lift is cheaper because you are only replacing the spindles and you don't need to replace the front shocks.
The next lift is the 5.5 which is the combo of the 2.5 and 3.

Hey Greenpus,
thanks for your help. What do you know about H and M. That seems like a pretty good deal, shocks and all, for under $600. I live in Texas, so I'll probably see how much it'll cost to ship from California.
I bought my 3 inch spindles from them. The spindles are BULLEYE. Bulleye is also the brand www.explorerprocomp.com sells. They are good cast iron spindles. If you want to save money you don't have to buy the shocks from H&M. All you really need are the spindles.
Buy the way, the $600.00 kit from H$M is only the spindles and shocks. Nothing else. After you install the spindles you will have to check the hieght of the rear of your truck. Some people like the rear to be lower then the front. I didn't like the look so I installed Add-A-Leafs to the rear to raise it about 1.5 inches

I agree. The spindle kit is the way to go in 2wd. I also think the add a leaf looks good with it. As far as brand, I hope to do the fabtech next year on mine.
