Hubs?

My hubs wont turn very easily by hand, one of them has a small hole in it. Is there any aftermarket ones that i can use that will work better or should i stick to the stock and turn with chanel locks if i have too? If the one that has a small hole gets worse, again, do i go aftermarket or oem?

If they won't turn by hand then they need to be taken off and cleaned and greased.

Is there aftermarket hubs that are metal instead of plastic

I thought you needed to lock the front hubs for the front assist to work. I used channel locks for 3 months before someone informed me.

Is there a benefit to locking the front hubs ?

Yep when you turn that dial you know you have 4x4 .

Depends on the year of your truck. There are for the 99-04 trucks. Most go with Warn or MileMarker. There are no aftermarket hubs for the 05 and up trucks. Ford changed the design that year.
