I have a 78 F-150 and am looking for accurate measurements of the headliner for my regular cab 4x4. I am looking to make a new one out of luon and adding leather to it. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you have the headliner trim? If so, you could probably arrange them on the ground and measure that. Cut it a little oversize and trim until it fits perfectly.
Make a template! Head to your local appliance store and ask for some scrap cardboard - preferably from a refrigerator but cardboard from washers and dryers will work too. Ya just gotta tape it together or work from a half section. Trim to fit.
The headliner is FAR from flat. Luan won't bend the way you want it to. Probably best to find a headliner at a yard. I'll have some trim here before too long. I'm swapping my painted trim for chrome trim. Or you could use 1/8th" Lexan and heat it so it warps to the correct shape. You'll need that cardboard template either way.
