Parts interchange
I'm starting to research a few parts for my newly acquired '62 F700 and would like to know what parts, in general, are interchangeable from other years or other models (F100 - F?) in the same year.
I need to replace the dry rotted and cracked windshield gasket and found one at DennisCarpenter.com, says it will fit all '61 - '66 F100 - F1100s.
I also need to replace the glass run channels, division bar & anti-rattle strips as well as door weatherstrips. Weatherstrips are listed for all models, but couldn't tell on the glass runs, bar and anti-rattle parts.
Best online parts resources/recommendations for this series truck? I know about Dennis Carpenter, LMC, & Blue Oval Truck Parts, any others?
Thanks!

Ive dealt mostly with NPD and the Truck Shop. I have ordered things from LMC but Buzz is right most people on here will tell you to avoid them. As far as rubber goes Dennis Carpenter is supposed to be the best but i havent bought any from them so I cant speak from experience.
What i did is i got catalogs from LMC, NPD, The Truck Shop, and Dennis Carpenter and i check all of them and the BOTP website for prices before buying anything.

There are TWO different types of windshield weatherstrips!

The following Ford part numbers are listed in Dennis Carpenter's 1957/66 truck repro parts catalog. 800-476-9653 ~ Call and order the puppy, it's free.
C1TB-8103110-B .. Custom Cab Windshield Weatherstrip-Use with w/shield reveal mouldings / 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000 / Reproduced.
C1UB-8903110-A .. Standard Cab Windshield Weatherstrip-Use without w/shield reveal mouldings / Same applications as above, also 1961/67 Econoline / Reproduced
All the other w/strips: door, vent window, window channel, inner/outer belt (anti-rattle), division bars are the same: 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.
The back glass w/strip also has the same applications except 1961/63 F100/250 Uni's with the wraparound back glass.
Carpenter's weatherstrips are made by him in the US of A / Some of the other repop sellers (not sure who) buy the w/strips from Carpenter, then sell them to you / Others sell made in China weatherstrips.
There's an old saying: Buy the best and cry only once.

Is your F700 a Custom Cab? If so, it has stainless steel w/shield mouldings, the specific w/shield w/strip has a groove for these mouldings to fit into.
Standard cab and that's the Carpenter gasket I looked at.

Already done, just not here yet.

Good info, this wasn't indicated on Carpenter's website.

Knew this, however, not all of Carpenter's weatherstrips are made in the US. I learned this when restoring a '75 F250. There's a disclaimer to that effect in the catalog that plainly states, "With a lot of our parts, we reached a point where we could no longer make them in the USA and still maintain competitive pricing. We were actually losing money on some items and barely making a profit on many others. The only way to continue offering these items at a reasonable price was to make them overseas." If the item doesn't have the "Quality Assured Parts Made in USA" logo more than likely they aren't. I've ordered the same part from LMC and Carpenters only to find they were the exact same overseas made junk (identical packaging, part numbers, "Made in China" label, etc.), so shop carefully and ask questions before ordering.
There's an old saying: Buy the best and cry only once.
Amen.

2010 F100 Western Nationals Truck Show (held every June at Canyon RV Park-part of Featherly Park, located N of the 91 Freeway in Anaheim):
I asked Pat Ford, DC's rep that attends many car/truck shows / swap meets (tows a trailer full of catalogs, repro parts w/a new F350 Stupor Duty), where the weatherstrips are made.
USA, he responded.
Also said that DC repro's Studebaker and Avanti weatherstrips in the USA for the Studebaker/Avanti repro parts sellers.
btw: I verified the info using the 1957/63 & 1964/72 truck parts catalog by looking up all the weatherstrips and their applications.
'Course I was 99% sure of this from the get-go, memorized all these part numbers 40 years ago, so it didn't take long.
Few peeps restore big trucks, why many of these 500/1100's are not listed in repro parts sellers catalogs.
Wanta restore a really big truck? Whiz over to Brewster, there's an AC Mack Bulldog parked in a shed along with ancient farm equipment, center of town, north side of the 'main drag.'
Wanta see a restored AC Mack? Cascades Museum in Mt. Hood OR has a real beaut. Looking for anything else in western WA? Ask this CA resident.
