Getting ready to get started on our swap. we have a 1963 ford f100, currrently has a 292 with 3 speed. we will be swapping to a fuel injected 302 with aod from a 1989 lincoln.
1st question is what fuel pump and lines. anyone got any tips? Would like to stay with the stock fuel tank and use an inline set up if possible, but open to suggestions.
Next question is I know I will need an aftermarket engine cradle to hold the engine, anyone want to suggest a kit, as I have seen a few in older post but would like to here from people that have used one or the other and why they liked it.
next would be shifter, it seems lokar might be my best option, but open to suggestions.
Next would be tranny mount, are the aftermarket ones worth it or just make one, I have the tranny mount from the lincoln and the truck, and a good welder, but dont want to waste the time if the aftermarket ones work easily.
next would be mounting the computer, any got any suggestions on where to put it.
any tips for the driveshaft? I have the driveshaft from the car and the truck.
another thing is the the charging system as it has a generator in it now, would like to convert it to using an alternator, is this possible and what do I need?
i am sure I will have more questions as we get into it.

Reason: No selling in the tech forums...
Well? in my modest opinion, I would go with a ''Carb'' settup? a lot less hassle when it comes to the fuel tank mod's, and you can get decent fuel economy out of a 302 with a carburator set up, even a 4'' barrel carb!..but it's your swap!..and I'm sure someone on here will chime in with the how too's!..good luck!
I recently and still in the process of rebuilding a 64 with a 360 & C6; the after market engine cradle I got from Carolina classic; alot of vendor sell them; price varies; the hardest part to find for my swap was motor mounts; Advance Auto was awhole lot cheaper than any vendor; I also kept the factory back cross member that held my 223 rear motor mounts; had to cut out the upper section and reweld it in place. I use the transmission cross member from my donor truck to hold my trans in place; again had to cut / lower reweld it to be inline with motor and trans angle. Use the donor drive shaft ;had it shorten to fit as well. I also added power steering and brakes; wish I used a different steering box; use the donor 76 F150 box; space was tight; but works. Speedway motors had the universal cupling to attach my 78 F150 tilt automatic column as well.
hope this gives you some ideals.
I did this swap witha carbed 302/AOD used the Lokar Nostalgia shifter problem free setup. DON'T use the "wing" type engine mounts, they been and shear off grade 8 boltsin the block, not fun. The first time it happen I hit a bump, the second pulling out of the driveway. Replaced it witha cradle type from DC no problems since. Trans cross memeber, I used the after market from DC as well. With 3.89 gears it runs 80 on the hiway at 2600 rpm. I shoot some picture but the truck is at college with my daughter.
Thanks for the ideas guys, keep them coming. bunch of trucks thanks for the warning on the engine mounts. that is definately my first concern.
ole 64, I dont really know what its worth as I couldnt find to many in good running condtion for sale. My dad wanted to start at $800 for the engine and tranny together, but definately open to offers.
I second what ''Garbs'' say's about the ''Headers!!, Go with shorty's or you will have a real hard time finding and beating longtubes into submission!!..lol, been there, done that.
Wow I just used old mustang exhaust manifolds ,left in the crossmember threw on some flex pipe and some turbos took it to midas and 300 bucks later I drove it home. Nice mellow dual exhaust no problems.
Finally got started today as we sold the stock yblock and tranny. Engine is removed and got a little money in our pockets, time to order some more parts.
