no power windows/4WD light blinking
I have a 96 Ford Explorer V-6 4 door that is having an intermittent electrical problem. The 4 wheel drive light that shows up on the dash at start up will start blinking on and off when I am driving it. The power windows stop working when this happens. I can't find anything wrong with the power window switch or the 4WD switch. The Haynes manual notes a relay(s) for the power windows and accesories delay, but I can't find the proper box of relays.
Does anyone know where this relay is located?

Both of these items are in common via the General Electronics Module (GEM). When the GEM starts to fail, you will see symptoms such as these. The GEM is mounted to the firewall, behind your radio. I think they run about $75 but I can't remember if that was new or used price.
