so im starting with the suspension.
i want to clear 35's. but only just, i want enough clearance to where the tires dont rub and not too much more than that on this truck.
would just a 4 inch work? my truck has the quad shocks and it rubs 33x10.5's but only a little. so would just my 4 inch lift work?
and who knows of good and cheap lifts? ive found them for 460$
I have a 4" lift and I just went down from 35's to 33's due to HORRIBLE rubbing issues. I would say at least 6" lift or 4" maybe with a lot of backspacing on the rims...
Not to mention 35's with a 4" lift just looks off:
35"
33"

Body work was free cause my father did it on his days off, said the labour and material would have costed at least 10 grand, plus body shops dont take the time out to remove the bed. We more or less "rented" the spray booth at maaco for $250 where my dad painted it also. Piant, primer, sealer, clear all came to about $ 1900.
Ok makes sense. My paint is in good shape but has quite a few rough spots. Was contemplating a respray this summer possibly but only time will tell. Good luck on the grill inserts. Let me know if they are the right ones if you order them.

If you want to clear 35" tires, go with a 6" lift. If you make it so they just fit, any time that you flex the suspension they are going to rub. And you will need some rims that have a backspacing of 4" or less.
sorry it took so long to reply everyone, thank you for the info, i think im going to go on a set of 33's. got real busy for a while haha, are there any other suspension/drivetrain changes any one has done? i want to have a damn good truck that'll turn heads when it goes by
For anyone looking for these, GOOD LUCK. Lund stopped making them about 6 years ago. I ended up buying a used set because I could not find any new ones ANYWHERE
