I'm not sure that I measured it to the nearest 1/16th of an inch as the wipers are on the pivots, but there is a lot of play in the wiper linkage so I'm not sure that it matters as long as the linkage does not bind.

Wipers for 52

My new wiper assembly before assembly is 1/16" shy of 16 1/2" but all you have to do is twist it a little to go either way.

I didn't think of that, I bet the 1/8" is so the left wiper clears the right when parked?
