Will do and thanks.
I plan on doing this and driving around an everyday car and until this build is done (couple years from now) drive a ranger when I need a truck, well at least that's the plan.
its stamped on the block.I imagine motor is original with vehicle. If its a 76 why not just put that truck on a High Boy frame and go from there.
Or for that matter any 73-79 4x4 F250/350 frame have you considered that.
There was no such thing as an F350 with 4WD until 1979. 460's were not available with 4WD until 1983, ditto with a M/T, F350's only initially.
Ford changed the 460 engine mid-year 1979. This was a running change, so there are no before/from certain production dates or serial numbers. The block casting number must be known to get the correct parts.
D1VE-6059-AB does not use a weighted spacer.
D9TE-6059-AB uses a weighted spacer. The harmonic balancer and flywheel (flexplate) are not the same as used with the D1VE block.
This affects 1979 F150/350's and Econolines only, as there were no 460's installed in Passenger Cars after 1978.
