First, I don't post here much, but do a lot of research here. Unfortunately, one late night I was trying to swap my 2006 EB Expy fuel filter and found out the hard way a special tool is needed for the non-clip side... (should'a researched this not-so-straightforward replacement...) As no autoparts stores were opened, I had to "fabricate" one.
I took a black Sharpie marker body and cut the very end tip off (opposite from felt tip) I then cut about 1/2" up giving me a 1/2" long "sleeve". I then cut the body of the sleeve lengthwise so it would slip over the fuel line. The material is stiff enough that it EASILY disengaged the internal flange locks on the fuel line when pressed in by hand.
Hope this helps someone else who may get stuck... Sorry for no pictures but our job network won't allow us to access any online photo hosting sites...
BTW, I am retiring/moving/traveling so will be offline for about six weeks and won't be able to respond to any questions at this point...
