Oh oh, She exploded :(
No I never did drive it hard, the hardest I think I've ever driven it is lately, trying to see if I can reproduce an issue. How ironic would it be to blow the head gaskets, when there was nothing wrong with them, trying to find out what wrong with the head gaskets? lol.
It would have overheated and flashed possibly, if the thermostat stuck or something, but my alarms are set really low, i think 205 or so, and they never went off.
So what could cause a massive coolant pressurization, equal to or worse than a HG failure, driving down the highway, without temperature spikes in the coolant or oil, i just don't know.
I can see this getting very annoying very quick. A lot of back and forth driving, and no real diagnosis.
OR, maybe in a few months, once warranty is gone, the real problem will rear it's ugly face.
I have had a genius friend of mine fool around with my truck, and there are some interesting things. I wouldn't say I found any smoking guns, but interesting none the less.
In about 5 minutes, he figured out that the noise I was asking about in a far previous post, like a year ago, after the latest flash was not a pressured up rail like I had thought it sounded like, but actually super early timing.
I don't know if you guys remember, but I was long ago asking if anyone noticed injector noises after getting flashed.
It turns out the noise I heard is actually the timing briefly being advanced to about 30 degrees, without any codes or anything. Don't know whats up with that, but I haven't heard any other 6.4's sound as loud.
