I was thinking about tinting my black and red X-cab F-250 and was wondering if it would be worth it to have it done by someone or if I could just buy the stuff and do it myself. I want it to be quality stuff and not to peel but also want to save some money if possible.
You can do it yourself I have with the help of parts windows out of another truck. I would cut the film exacly to the spare window then pull the backing and install it on my truck with great success. I know not everyone can do this but not being a expert this helpted alot! Now that I have a little extra cash I took my truck to the city 3 weeks ago for professional tint LOOKS great far fewer bubbles and its not peeling like my walmart tint is. (when I installed it myself im not sure i kept the windows closed for 3 or 4 days like the shop told me to) SO, go for it if it dosent work for you, you can always take it in later if your not happy. Good luck and dont forget our trucks look great with tint!
Ok it sounds like its not too hard. Are you saying that the walmart stuff is probably not a good option? (that was where i planned on going haha) I dont like the bubbles and all that I see on most cheap trucks so if you know of a good brand then I'd appreciate it.
walmart tint isnt the problem its how good you do the job. ive been tinting with walmart tint for along time and i dont have bubbles and what they call limo tint doesnt fade to purple in a couple years. it holds its color good.
The walmart tint should be fine I think they had 2 brands when I did my truck I got the more expensive one. My tint has held up well and still looks great its my fault on not letting the tint dry (opened windows).
I can do alot of things, but window tint in NOT one of them. I get mine done and it come out perfect and comes with a LIFETIME warranty. a reg cab truck w slider and windshield brow costs me 200. Not really worth my effort to F around with it all day and have it come out like CHIT
