1971 high boy
#2
I bought my 72 Highboy two years ago out of New Mexico from the original owner, it was a 9 on a scale of 10. I have slowly been doing a complete restoration and should be finished this summer.
There where only a "X" number of Highboy's ever made and every day that number gets smaller, the only good thing about that is that every one that's left get's just a little more valuable. Get you a good one while you can.

I agree it does sound a little high, but if it is in excellent condition, then it may be worth it. As previously stated, there are only a certain amount made, and there are not that many of them left, at least not many in good enough condition to be worth 6k. If you take a look at it, and it looks like it was driven off the showroom floor yesterday, then I can see the 6k asking price. However, if you see a lot of rust, or body damage or oil/water puddles, then no, I don't think it would be worth that. Just my humble opinion of course.
The real question, is not does it seem high, but are YOU willing to pay 6k for it? Only you know the answer to that.

I hope this is okay to post the CL ad here. For pics. 1971 Ford F-250 4x4 Custom Highboy 360 V8 What do you guys think now? It looks nice and I think that is original color. Looks like the front and rear bumpers are not original though. He came down to $6000 from $6500 in the last two weeks and when I contacted him he told me to shoot him an offer. Still not seen the beast in person though.

36k original miles. If that is true, then it is definitely worth the 6k he is asking. Problem is, how you going to find out one way or the other? Even with a repaint it is going to be worth some money just because it is a high boy. However, to claim it only has 36k on it, is going to be hard to believe unless he has some sort of proof.
