What is it worth
Thinking of selling my1999 F350 7.3L diesel 6 speed 280,000 miles but not sure what it is worth. I tried the Kelley Blue book but it came up with $8000 which I think is way too high for the shape it is in (rusted wheel wells). Front end is tight and truck has a professionally installed greasecar kit which is working fine.
Anyone know what these trucks sell for in the northeast?

Here's my method for curing the "am I too high or too low on the price" situations: as sellers we all want to get the most for our vehicle, while the buyer always wants the lowest price. So to find out where those numbers intersect, I use an honest blue book price plus a few hundred bucks when I advertise. If it sells right away, great. If not, re-list it (I have had 100% success with craigslist) a couple weeks later and drop the price $100-$200. This is assuming a vehicle price of between $5K and $20K. This may not seem like much, but I once advertised a decent Mazda pickup for $1800 one weekend with zero callers, I dropped it to $1600 the next weekend and sold it in four hours with 6 callers! I did the same thing with my most recent vehicle. I would've taken $4,000, but blue book was $5,700. So I asked $6,000 and dropped the price weekly until I got to $5,300. a guy called within a couple hours, and bought it for $5,000, which was evidently what fair market value is. Remember no matter the item, it's only worth what someone will pay. Good luck!
