That bid is way too high for that truck.I have a feeling those are dead beat bidders.I would expect someone to pay that price for an unmolested original Highboy from the 70's,but not a regular ol clean 86 F250.There really isn't anything special about that truck at all.
Prices on Ebay are ridiculous.Somebody is currently selling Black A,B,Windshield, above door and below and above rear window trim(about half the things I bought from the mud truck) for $150.I paid $30 for everything that was in that mud truck including all those moldings, the entire dash, door panels, map pockets, kick panels, floor vents, bezels, cluster, clock, heater controls, and wiring harnesses. But then again,I got lucky.
I started selling cars and parts on ebay when it started, but once the price of the fees equaled what I sold the part for I quit, now all I do is sell things by craigslist and word of mouth, so far so good. Once in awhile autotrader as they own so many sites and its a one time fee until it sells. That truck is insanely clean, someone should spit on it so its dirty.
For $14,000 and reserve not met, it is too stupid. I would be scared to tell someone how much I paid for the truck. I would also be scared to use the truck. Another consideration - the vacuum lines and such are still 26 years old and brittle. The rubber parts on the carb and such are also that old (if it is as original as he says). To pay that much for something that might need that work still, is somewhat odd. For that, I could put a Cummins in mine, NV4500, Dana 60 front, and still come out ahead...oh yeah, I would not be scared to drive it either.
Is the inner fender supposed to be silver?
Also, why did they take the time to upgrade the A/C if it only has 30k and therefore should not have leaked.
Last, it is a CA truck for sale in NC? Something is not right to me.
