Emblems & Grills . . .
#33
So Clay and Nick are running billet grills I assume? Any particular ones? I know that some people have wider spacing on the billet part so the light shines through better.

Anybody know where I can find the 3 piece billet set for this housing??
Preferably black. I can paint this black to match.
I wonder if there are some that are wider than others so that the light shines through better.
PS. I know that there are some inserts that just "bolt-over" to cover the stock grill. Thats not what I need.

Would any of these work?
F350. Ford F-350 Dash Kits. Grilles. Ford F350 Covers. Seat Covers.
They seem like they might be bolt over but if there is no stock "center" of the grill to show behind then it may not be an issue. Wondering if that one piece "Ford F350 Aluminum Billet Grille" that is second from the top on the right would work? Maybe I could secure it to the two virtical posts I have on the grille?

I dont want vertical dude. I did find one from T-rex yesterday though that might work
1999-2004 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty Excursion Grille Assembly - Aftermarket Chrome Shell - w/3 Pc Shown Billet Installed - Installs in 10 minutes [50575] : T-Rex Billet Grilles, Car and Truck Accessories
or
1999-2004 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty FX4 & XLT, Grille Assembly - Aftermarket Chrome Shell - w/ 1 Pc Flush Billet (20570) Installed [50574] : T-Rex Billet Grilles, Car and Truck Accessories
I am just wondering if these would have anything to attach to since it says "Shell" does that mean that it bolts on to the stock center that I dont have?
And those dont have pricing. I'm going to have to call to check.
Even still,
This one would shine a lot more light through

Hmmmm. Cant tell if they are selling the grill or just the Billet to put on it. And if it is just the billet to put on it, the picture shown of the actual truck on there is not representative of what that billet would look like installed.
$93 and I'd still have to paint the billet and the housing. I think this one might still be taking the cake. $113 to the door with no messing around. Already black.
And the billets look wider which would be good for light behind it. Anybody running this one?
More Information for VARIOUS MFR FO1200458
Only reason I would go with an billet insert for the housing I have is if it is cost effective to get one and paint the housing when comparing to the one in the link above.

Alright, check it out!
A little expanded metal, some dremel work, and paint.
Housing
Expanded metal cut to fit the center
Also cut the side holes out by cutting a cardboard piece to fit, using it for a cutting guide, shaving it to be perfect afterwards, then flipping it over, placing it on top of another piece of expanded metal, and cutting an exact piece to mirror for the other side. Then paint.
Boom!
I like the end result. I was going to paint the housing black too and I will eventually, but for now (until I get my bumpers line-x'd and harley lights) I think that it looks better with some chrome on there to match the rest.
What do you guys think?
Thanks to palmer for the housing. And to Bryant for the use of his dremel. I am going to have to buy him some new cutting wheels haha. I used quite a few.
I plan on mounting lights behind the grill (HID's) eventually. Since I am planning on that, I think I will keep the 'no emblem' look. I dont know though. The emblem on my other grille is black now so it may look good. hmmmm...
