Changing ICP Sensor

I got the P2285 Code today so decided to take it to the dealer and see what they said. Well they quoted me $459.99 for the ICP Sensor and Pigtail with 3 Hours Labor, later they told me that they would lower it to $413.00. I thought that was way to much and decided to try to change it myself or take it to another mechanic. I got the following part number

ICP Sensor
3C3Z 9F838 EA

Pig Tail
5C3Z 12224 A

Dealer wanted $160 for the ICP Sensor alone, what are your recomendations on where to purchase this? Ebay has some ranging from $50 - $170. Also since my Excursion is an 04, I am not sure if it is the early model or late model and also not sure where the ICP Sensor it at. Which brings me to the pictures below.

Located where the arrow points

I find this

I am not sure if that is the ICP Sensor, reading the tech folder and other threads I was lead to this spot on the engine.

I think this is where the ICP Sensor is.

Closer look

So how difficult will this be and are the part numbers correct? Just want to make sure. Also am I right as to the location of the ICP Sensor with the 3rd and 4th picture?

Thanks, and sorry for the long post.

First pic you posted was the EBP Sensor

Now Being an 04 theres 2 possible locations
1.Under turbo in Back
2.Being in the Passengerside Valve cover

Depends on build Date

I cant tell for shure on your But your ICP Sensor looked to be In the Rear Under the turbo the FUN ONE

Your Last Pic is pointing at the IPR Valve but early models have ICP right next to it just like my pic Lower

Im Not 100% shure so Definatly check the Passenger side valve cover First

William Did a Great writeup on the one under the turbo its in the Tech folder So give him some REP Points

Heres a Pic of the Early one with the junk out the way Due to the Price you were quoted this is where I think yours is at but DEFINATLY Check PASS Valve Cover first

Here is where it is on a "late" build. Right near alternator.

And here on an "early" build.

Thanks for the replies. I definatly think that the ipc is in the rear behind the turbo, lucky me I guess . Do you know of a good reputable place to purchase the IPC? I am not sure if I should get the $50 one from ebay or just buy the dealer one? Are all IPC Sensors built the same? One thing I dread is splicing into the wires. Also how can I confirm the part numbers is what I need, I check fordparts.com and I am given two part numbers.

For parts, my first call is to Rockauto.com. If it is something that they dont carry its Fordpartsguyed, or tousley ford for genuine ford parts at considerably less than MSRP. If you are in a burning rush for same day parts then its the local dealiship at MSRP.

Either sensor will work but will give you different voltage readings if I remember correctiy. DTR recommends using the later style because of a lower faikure rate. $40-60, buy the Motorcraft part or you might regret it.

2003-early 2004 under turbo:
Drain a couple gallons of coolant. Remove degas bottle. Remove FICM. Remove rear stud on intake manifold so it doesn’t tear your arm up. Use a socket, swivel and extension to get it loose.

Late 2004-on easily removed on passenger valve cover. I forget the socket size but think it is a 15/16” deep
