A couple of months back I was having problems with my left side turn signal. The rear turn signal light would stay on and the front would not even turn on as the turn signal lever was on position for left turn. Someone here adviced me to check and replaced my left front turn signal bulb as a burned bulb would give this type of problem... That solved the problem then.
Now, I am having the same problem with the same side! I assumed my front bulb light was burn again but this time it was fine. I exchanges the bulb from the right side turn signal which was working fine and my left turn signal still does not work properly. Both bulbs seem to be ok as I tested them both on the right hand side turn signal.
Any ideas on what could I do or check to fix this problem?
Depending on what year, the 70-72 had issues with the back of the socket getting rusty and the spring loaded contacts would not make good contact with the bulb. I had a '70 I drove for 12 yrs and constantly had to screw with the front bulbs to keep them working. The sockets were rusty due to typical rust belt issues.
Try pushing the bulb IN while it's turned on and see if it starts blinking. Or just wiggle it in the socket.
