WOW looks like a great turnout there, thx for sharing
There was a pretty big turnout. I took about 75 pics and there were still a bunch of trucks I didnt take pics of. Drove my silver '86 F150 there. I want to drive my '84 XLT there next year. They also have a pretty good swapmeet.
Finally spotted a dent in action on my commute home & grabbed this action shot. For some reason, these rigs are quite rare in the Houston area cause you just don't see them anymore.
KIKKUP, do you, or anyone else know what package that tailgate F O R D trim panel is from!? I've not seen that before, is it rare anyone?
While I am not too sure of this I suspect it might have come from a Mexican built Ford or even borrowed from maybe a step side bed. From time to time I see Mexican made versions of U.S. cars and there are some subtle differences. Perhaps someone else might know for sure.
terrible picture, but this guy works at the gas station here in humboldt. dig the home made cattle guard:
spotted this one at TSC. hard to see from the pic, but i'm pretty sure it is an old Iowa DOT truck. underneath the black you can see the DOT orange peeking through where the paint has chipped. also hard to see in the pic is the HUGE trans cooler in front of the radiator. not sure i've ever seen one like it, looked like a 2 or 3 row trans cooler. normal size but very thick.... just interesting. thinking it must be a 78. not sure if 79's ever had the round headlights, even in DOT stripper-trim.
Man I have loved these pickups for years. Now my boys(14 &17) are right there with me on them. There is a ton of them around where I live. If I can figure out how to load pictures I will post a bunch of them. Awesome thread!!!!
Here's a few with the last being the best. I know this is NOT a dentside but it sure was a pretty good bumpside. Unfortunately it was on a pick and pull flatbed. Hopefully this truck will help preserve other Bumps out there.
And here's one from TODAY. I was out running errands and found this gem parked on the street. Since I sat there for a minute the owner came out to say Hi. I invited him to FTE so hopefully we will hear from him soon because his 73 Highboy is a real gem and he has plans on restoring it.
