Dent Fest anyone?

Has anyone thought about doing a National Dent side truck Festival? Make it like a 3-4 day event. Camp out and have a good time. Maybe have a truck show. I was just thinking on a way to get people together and hang out.

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago. Thought about the Spring 2013 Turkey Run in Daytona Florida.

Turkey Run Home

They have a spring event and a fall event. It is awesome !!!! Food, vendors, hot rods!!!
They had 4845 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS AND 125,000 SPECTATORS.

Put together an event that has some activities. Truck stuff and people stuff. Have a mudrun, show-n-shine, pulls, maybe a drag race if there's a track close. Then have group activities like tug-o-war type stuff to fill in.

I'd be down for that!

Let me do some thinking. Should it be in the same spot every year(if it takes off) or give the opportunity to let some body else host it? I'm not much of an event planner but I can come up with some good ideas.

I think a good way to start this off is a side event/GTG during the F100 SuperNationals in Pigeon Forge, TN , May 17-19, 2012.

http://www.f100supernationals.com/

That way, it can be a two-fer and there are plenty of other F-trucks to boot. Participation could be markedly better since ya might be there already plus it could garner interest from the other series owners.

How about a Dentside corral at a host hotel?.. maybe even at a Walmart (cuz it has a large parking lot).

Why not set up an Inaugural FTE Summit with representatives/ members from all the state chapters??? FTE already has the membership and the means to communicate.

Annual Event in Atlanta at the huge Summit Outlet:

September 9 - 7th Annual Mustang & All Ford Show. (Summit Racing)

Here are some other events in the Atlanta Area:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...car-shows.html

One of the guys in the Georgia forum works at Summit. I was thinking of trying to make the September event a big Georgia get together. BUT we could make it a FTE event too if we get enough people interested.

Reserve one hotel for all the FTE people that want to come. maybe a small entry fee for some trophies for: most people/ who came the farthest, most improved truck, etc, etc. They could host the event and we could piggy back off of it.

I'm all for it. Lots of great ideas. The Chevelle guys have "Chevellabration" in Goodlettesville, Tn. every year. I don't see a reason we couldn't have "Dent fest" somewhere centrally located like west Tennessee or somewhere like that.

X2! I see where HIO Silver is coming from. Incorporate a "Dentfest" in another truck event to not only share location facilities but draw more interest from non Dentside owners.

I would defiantly would attend and make it a fun road trip as well, maybe travel with a group. Imagine a convoy of Dentsides, pretty cool.

Dent Fest might bring opposition from some progressive "green" organizations considering the amount of fuel consumption. Should **** off a lot of those types... Count me in!

Oh yes still wanna have dent fest but I'm thinking in the fall sometime. We've got the pumpkin run in October but our dents are not old enough to be in the show.

I would come too but lets try to make it central. I don't think I could make it if it was in Florida. I thought of maybe Branson, Missouri.

Ok how about some where around the memphis area? I'm sure I could make a call and get a place down in Mississippi or even Louisiana but that's not too central.

I just thought of a fun thing to do. A towing obstacle course. Have a trailer for the 1/2 ton trucks and one for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Yes I stole the idea from a diesel magazine oh well
