I'm looking at trading my '04 Lariat for a new F250. I've noticed in the few trucks that I've looked at that the gray door panels and seats seem to have a noticeable blue tint to them. Is this common? I don't really want to go leather in the new truck because the leather in my '04 didn't really impress me with the wear\durability. The only colours listed for the cloth seats are the gray and the tan. But I'm not sure if i can learn to live with that gray with the blue tint.
And i'm undecided on whether I want the 6.2 or 6.7. My '04 is a 6.0, and I'm afraid of going back to gas truck in case I end up missing the diesel power. What kind of mileage are you getting with these engines? The trip computer in the 2012 6.7 that I drove was reporting 32L/100km which translates into about 8 mpg. I can't believe that can be accurate.
I have also been looking into Ram 2500's, but being a Ford guy, I'm having difficulty with leaving the SD behind.
The gray interior definitely has the blue tint on the plastic. When I first saw it I wasn't a big fan. But it has grown on me. I am very impressed with the truck and I don't really notice it anymore. Also, the storage in these new models is great....under the center console, and under the back seat, all locking.
For MPG's, there are threads out there that talk about it. I get about 11-12 city and 15+ highway. You should also test drive the 6.2, you might be surprised by the power.
I went from a tuned 6.0 Excursion to the 6.7 crew cab in my sig...
and the power is great, even stock, and with just a tuner can add 120 more hp ?!?!?! just waiting on a few more miles then it's on !
with 6 speeds, 400 hp and 800 lbft @ 1600 rpms, u can also move right along and still get what I consider exceptional mpg - much better than my 6.0 every got !
Thanks for the replies, I suppose you would get used to the blue, as for MPG, according to my overhead console computer I'm pulling down around 19 MPG highway.
The thing is this. The gas motor has plenty of power but you need to be spinning 4,000 rpms to get it, so be sure that is what you want. It's not for me.
The interior can be modified to meet your eye, honestly I would go with the black leather which is mostly vinyl. Unless you order it you probably will have trouble finding cloth seats in dealer inventory.

That I agree with. This engine doesn't mind be in the higher RPM range. On the highway at 70, and you stomp on it, it goes from 1800 RPMs to 4000 and moves.

Are you talking leather or cloth? idn't think there was a charcoal cloth option....just checking.
When I say the leather in mine hasn't impressed me, I mean that the colour has come out of it along the seams, and the colour has also come off the leather on the steering wheel. For cleaning it, I've only ever used products that state they are safe for leather. The black leather in the new trucks is nice for sure.
