Rear Brake drums
kind of a odd swap question i guess and it might just have to be a trial and error deal. my 79 f250 2wd has the 12x2.5 shoes on the rear and the drums are gettin wore to the point where nobody wants to turn them. ive got a rearend out of a 1 ton with the 12x3" and the shoes are almost new. can i just swap the drums out or will the berrings and all that be different. i wish i had the money to just switch to rear disk but i dont so i gotta work with what i got
p.s. id swap the whole rearend in but my current has 3.54 and the 1 ton has 4.10s i dont wanna loose my 3.54's

you should be able to swap them over i have did this a few times [dana 70 1 ton to dana 60 3/4 ton] but you will need every thing including the backing plates and new seals + you will get a bit more stopping power to boot

thanks miottimouse...i was wantin the extra little bit of brake shoe back there but didnt know if it was possible, i have the backing plates and all that on the other rearend ill just have to get new seals. this truck pulls trailors alot with full size trucks and cars on it and the trailor dont have brakes so everything i can get out of the truck helps...in a year or so this truck will be 4x4 with 03 1 ton ford 4x4 axles that have disk all the way around. i just have to wait for funds to be right so i can get all the right parts to do the conversion
