Ok so i have 1989 Eddie Bauer Ed Bronco. Dana 60 front ford 9" rear. 460 with 400m bellhousing mated to np435 4spd. Replaced two captain chairs with one bench seat. Haz 6"skyjacker lift and 4"body lift. Sitting on 35x12.50 r16 open country M/T tires (33% tread maybe?) I can add tow reciever for no cost to me. But with short wheelbase not many will want it for towing.
It will be a great trail rig or daily driver. I know this is very vauge, but even with slightly ugly welds, low treadlife tires, and a recent(3yr old) paint job, (two cracks in body fillèr showing rust lines, what would FORD GUYS pay for it?
Hmm, def a frankenstein project. A D60 up front but only a 9" rear...are the wheels the same lug pattern? Those tires will fit with just a 6" suspension so with an additional 4" body they will look too small.
You'll really have to post some pics of the whole truck and maybe some of the problem areas (i.e. ugly welds)
Things working against you: Big tires are $$$ so being worn down will bring down the price.
The bench seat IMHO, becuase the capt chairs were designed to flip and slide to allow backseat access.
Is this set-up carbed or EFI?
I don't wanna say a price without seeing pictures becuase it sounds kinda...........without seeing it. I will say that this truck does not sound like a daily driver at all but it does sound like a fun trail rig/toy if you took the massive body lift off.
Haha, you nailed it! Ya the lift is a bit much for 35's, the front axle has dana 44 spindles/hubs/ect to match 5lug rear. The body lift cant be removed due to the height of the 4spd trans. But with the low tread tires, someone would probably just want to put some 39.5 's on it. The bench seat is from an extra cab Fseries so the seats fold diagonally for easy access to rear. I only have one picture of it right now, during the engine transplant, and the front bumper/grill are still loose from being removed, but you can get an idea of the "Frankenstein"!
Once its running im just looking to get out of it for $2500. So i'll list it for 3500 and let someone lowball me down!
Thanks for your suggestions and opinions. Any thoughts on adding a reciever?
if it costs you nothing, I would add the receiver....cant use a bumper mounted ball, and the ability to tow a trailer is a must. I have 37s on my excursion and tow a bunch, also have a receiver on my Bronco with 35s and tow minimally with it, mowers or motorcycles, mainly utility trailers but it is nice not getting the excursion out for the small things. The next owner will probably be into toys so towing a quad or something is probably going to happen. It may not add value but may add enough utility to make someone buy it.
Ya .....it kinda sux to have 3/4 ton running gear and power, but not able to tow a camp trailer or something. But you are right about atv trailers, i occasianally tow one behind my Discovery with a 100in. wheelbase. I will have to build a drop hitch.....lol
