Hey! So the truck is my 86' F250HD, 4" lift w/ 35" tires. The only off-road she see's is while i'm hunting and after the rebuild hauling a 20' enclosed trailer full of quad's to the Oregon Coast from time to time.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out the shock to use and the setup... I'm thinking of maybe going with the double or triple shock setup's, I really dont know lol.
Maybe add a air bag setup in the rear?
What has anyone used or using that you would recommend?
Wish I could help but, the only 4X4'x I've messed with were Jeeps. On them I preferred adjustable, something like Rancho 9000. I do know Ford came with twin shocks on the front of some of there truck, just don't know why. A good quality shock would do just as good without the stiffer ride. Something like Bilstein. Heck, my 34' motor home, on a Ford chassis, only uses a single on the front.
A good steering stabilizer, and single shocks on the front ought to do you just fine. I see no reason to run a dual shock setup on these trucks. It's mainly for if you want to spend the extra money I'd guess.
When you get back from overseas, I'd look up under the bed at the upper shock mounts next to the frame. These were known for rusting out because Ford didn't put good weep holes in the mounts.
Thank's for the input guy's! Lot's of option's and way's to go with this, i really appreciate the thought's!
