Front Brakes for 97 E350 with V10
here is the problem I have. Our small company uses the crap out of the E350s, mostly still mid 90s or early 2000s, none have 4-disc brakes. We run pretty close to 10k lbs. loaded on most our trucks. We have bad problems on our trucks warping rotors and eating pads. Besides the driver related issues that could exist, what are the toughest and best choices for rotors and pads. I'm going to try out EBCs Yellowstuff pads. Probably will use thes on the family vehicle too, this will be a test drive for them. my V10 isn't constantly loaded, but I can drive her pretty hard. For some reason I just can't decide on a damn rotor for our trucks. I'm thinking slotted may be a possibility just not sure if they can deal with the heat generated. Very rarely can we get a rotor to last more than one cut, assuming it makes it that long.
thanks for your help!
If you are NOT running heavy CONSTANTLY, then you should go with a different pad, such as the Hawk LTS. The Hawk HD pads are useless when cold, and will NOT warm up if the vehicle isn't towing or hauling heavy. Hawk even warns about this.
