looks great Gerry! i would love a 06-10 limited or EB V8! sexy trucks.
so i took it in for an alignment today and they claim i need both lower ball joints and the right inner tierod. i called BS because my guy looked it over in march. but i now realize that was over 6,000 miles ago.
so i priced out on rockauto 2 new KYB shocks, 2 upper ball joints with control arms, 2 lower ball joints, 2 inner tie rods for $300. figure i'll buy parts this month and get it all done next month...maybe
i'm really debating on doing it...or selling it and waiting for my perfect explorer to come along. i could take down some debt quick if i did sell it. but it had been very helpful having it around..so i'm not sure. i would love to find a 96-98 limited V8 awd but they are rare! things to think about.
i dont mind the work if it was the foundation i wanted. but the body/paint damage and green interior make it SO much more work then if it had been a EB or limited. i would gladly put the money into one i really liked. i think this one will prolly just be a "for now" truck to get by.
rolled 150k the other day! shes a strong runner. had to replace the blower motor early December. then early january i came outside to a flat tire. this particular tire was on my '96 explorer when it was totaled. the tire took a direct hit in the wreck but did not seem damaged. glad it went flat in the driveway and not on the highway.
the tire, ended up putting a summer tire on for now till i can get another studded cooper snow tire. (they are all 31x10/50)
otherwise shes doing well, i'm still trying to decide what i want to do with this thing but for now it does everything that is asked and comes back for more! going to need some front end work this spring if i dont unload it for a nicer conditioned V8 explorer.
-18F, I thought it got cold in Alaska! lol. My uncle in Fairbanks was complaining a while back that it didn't get above zero for two weeks! Kinda wish we'd get some real winter weather here in MN!
150,505 miles and i changed oil in her for the first time. put regular oil in it again rather then synthetic. found a hell of a front pinion and axle seal leak. front diff was dry. i thought there was a hum! LOL filled it up and hopfully it will make it till i can swap out my 4:10 axles from my wrecked '96 explorer.
i also filled her up with gas and gave her the first wash its had since September!
and the bad side, going to replace the door soon and i'll have to wait till summer for matching wheels/tires i think.
