Carb. application question.

I had the carb. on my '66 240 w/manual trans. rebuilt. Autolite 1101-A as best as I could tell. The guy that rebuilt it said it was in pretty crappy condition and he did the best he could with it, but it may or may not ever be right. I am already having some issues with it. I found another carb. It is an autolite # C6TZ9510S ?? Made for a 240 manual trans. w/thermactor. My question is; Will it fit my 240 even though it does not have a thermactor? What is the difference between the two?

carb

I can't truly answer your question, but I am running an Autolite 1100 on my '64 223 ci w/ manual trans.....had stall, hesitation, smoking issues etc. I starting looking closer and mine had a carb set up for an auto trans.... has two dashpots instead of one. I went to order a rebuild kit and I called Rockauto to see if they had one in stock- yep $165 with a $50 core rebate, so for about $115 I now have a carb that runs great!!!
Check out www.rockauto.com 'ifin you need parts. Did me right on the brakes for my dually as well. I did have to go through LMC for the shoe brakes for the 64...they have to be 2 3/4"......everybody else including NAPA had 3". NAPA also wanted $265 for that carb....uhhhh, nope!

C6TZ-9510-S = 1V Auto-Lite Carburetor / Original applications: 1966/67: F100/250 2WD/4WD 240 with T/E.

T/E = Thermactor Emission = Smog Pump.

1966/67 F100's and 1967 F250's sold new in CA all came with T/E, other states may have required this as well.

The Auto-Lite carb will work and uses the same carb kit as ALL 1963/64 F100/250's with 223/262 I-6's, 1965/69 F100/250 240/300 I-6's.

The same kit was also used on 1963/69 Passenger Cars/Econolines with 170/200/240 engines, 1966/69 Bronco's with 170's.

C8OZ-9A586-D (replaced C3AZ-9A586-E & F, C8OZ-9A586-A) .. 1V Auto-Lite Carb Kit (Motorcraft CT-207).

Thanks guys for your help. I wasn't sure if the carb. had vacuum ports or some other attachments that weren't required with an engine with no T/E installed. I depend on the posters on this forum who have far more superior knowledge than I do when I have questions regarding my '66 F100 Flairside rebuild. Thanks again!!
