You can put a 6.9 in it just make sure it's a 84.5 or newer because the possibility of block cracking around the block heater but is a direct bolt in switch a couple outside minor differences though
Thanks guys keep the tips coming and i actually thought about a 6.9 but will my banks turbo mount to the 6.9 and if you could find the name of that place that would b awesome
Check Craigslist, I have seen 7.3's alone, and donor trucks in the Denver area frequently. I had never touched a diesel in my life, bought a truck with a seized motor for 1600 bucks, (had a complete low mileage Banks Sidewinder on it IMHO worth that alone), and found a motor on Craigslist with 190k miles on it, got it for 500 bucks, did the swap myself and with a lot of reading, a lot of help from people on this forum, and a lot of patience, a year and a half later, she is running great, and I am real happy I did it.
Good luck,
Mac.
