Resistor wire

I rewired my truck and its a 63 but the motor is a 78 302 with a c4, Well i finished or thought i was but i have this resistor wire and cant find out where to put it any sugestions. Its a little pink wire. I started it and it makes this winding noise, and when i shut it down or turn the key off it winds down and takes a couple seconds to stop after i turn the key???

Resistor wire leaves run position of ignition switch to + side of coil. Start position provides full battery voltage for starting. Here is a DSII diagram. Not shown is a wire from "I" term of starter solenoid tied in at firewall.

Nice looking ride, mentioned 'rewire', in the event it's an aftermarket kit then the copy of the ignition circuit I posted will likely be useless; unfortunately the pic is pathetic perhaps another member can provide one better. May want to consider purchasing the wiring manual, I found it extremely helpful tracing down the occasional electrical gremlins. Most Ford supplier's carry them, purchased mine directly from Jim Osborn Reproductions for $7.

Its a little pink wire.
COLF-12250-A .. Resistor Wire-Ignition Coil (Motorcraft DY-37).

61.49" long / Color coded PINK / 1.30-1.40 ohms resistance / #20 gauge wire.

Original applications: ALL 1960/70 FoMoCo vehicles. There are two others:

D1AZ-12250-A 60" long used 1971/79 (color coded red w/green stripes) / D7AZ-12250-A 49" used 1977/86, thru 1991 on Econolines only (color coded red).

Both D1AZ & D7AZ are #16 gauge wire. The ohms resistance is the same for all.

DuraSpark electronic ignition introduced in 1974, but not all vehicles came with it until 1976.
