Gentlemen, a good friend of mine keeps having his 02 die on him. Every time it dies the tach doesn't work. Cam sensor right? Well, he is currently on his 4th sensor, and the truck keeps dying.
So far we have replaced the cam sensor pig tail, but found no broken wires. Replaced the IPR pigtail, the wires were chewed up pretty good. And of course the 4 sensors. He even tried a known good one that I had.
The bad part is I've been so busy that I haven't had time to really sit down with the truck and help him. So I'm trying to give him ideas to run with. I know sometimes I can get so caught up in advanced projects that I forget the basics. So tell me what I'm missing.
I does keep throwing the P0340 code. So posssibly something up the harness from the pig tail? I was thinking about removing the engine harness to have a good look at it when I have the chance.
The truck is just dying like you turn the key off, so I don't suspect fuel pressure. And with the tach not reading, I'm not thinking IDM problem. Guys any help we can get I certainly appreciate it.
