Alright I got my Alt installed got is tested prior and 100% good. I got it wired all up according to the diagram in a couple post tossed the old harness and meter. I have Zero power. I checked my wires with a volt meter and got 12.4 v on my solenoid but nothing when I try to turn it over. I did have to ground my alt where the bottom bolt holds the alt in place, cause the small bolt I used behind the alt stuck out too far and wouldn't fit. Could my issue be with the ground how I did it? It's a 71 F-250 360cid.

You mean where it connects to the solenoid? Peel back the wrap and it'll likely be the Blk/yel and Yellow wires or it has an inline fusible link. Sometimes the colorant wears off. Regardless, it needs to be connected to the battery side terminal.
The Y/wh from the 3G also connects to the hot side or looped to the alternator's battery lug. The Gr/r wires need to be connected to each other.
i think my mistake was putting the black/yellow wire on the starter side of the solenoid. I took the bolts and washers off the starter and used a wire brush to clean up the connection too.
Well I got it working, putting out 14.5 at idle. An a slight squeal on start up and it squeals when I rev it high really fast
I finally got mine going no noise but others have because of using a single v pulley. If you go to a double v you should get rid of the squeal. Double v puleys are available at auto parts stores, online and the junkyard.

correct- the solenoid is an open switch except when you're cranking the engine over, so the black/yellow wire would not have been getting battery voltage.
