Another one bites the dust
IMO, until these issues are worked out, ford should be prohibited from building or selling any more of these trucks/engine combos. People should not have to pay $40k for a engineering test vehicle for ford.
To all those guys who ridicule people complaining - congratualtions on your financial success, but you're in the minority. Most people are hard put to make a $500/mo payment on a vehicle they can't drive! I'd like to see someone file a class action suitand have ford pick up the monthly on any truck that breaks due to known issues until it's fixed once and for all.
The last few years Ford has been really bad about rushing new things out into the marketplace with not nearly enough testing and tuning. They rely on us to figure out what's wrong with their vehicles. And they dont usually pay us much to fix them either.
Some of the bonehead ideas that Ford tries selling really make us shake our heads.
Have you seen the latest idea to fix the rad hose clamps that break all the time? Now from the factory they come with the junk spring type clamp and also a small older style screw clamp. Why not just put one good clamp on it?
When the 7.3 DIs came out there were a lot of problems with them too. It took a while but they got them figured out and are excellent now. I'm sure the 6.0 will be a good engine after a while too.

Simple economics. A $2 saving during assembly with a resulting $1 increase in warranty costs still puts $1 in Ford's pocket.
Screw-type clamps have there own problems. They loosen up and proper torque during assembly is an issue.
Ford has done the math and concluded that the clamps that it uses saves it money in the long run.
