Can you try a different FICM in it?

You must get the starter to engauge before you try anything eles IMO this is the first proirity

If it does work it proves the starter is ok
and that the ignition switch or wiring to starter from ignition switch has an issue like a short or bad connect

But not engauging means it could be burned up or bad starter

do you have a DVM=Digital volt meter

The only pats that would be on the truck is the stock pats...not even sure if it has one. Has key less entry...like I said it shutoff while I was driving so I don't think the starter is the issue but me and AK will try anything at this point lol cause we're clueless. Yes I do have a DVM and will check the voltage at the 12v power plug on the dash. Looked at alot of fuses and nothing was blown and swapped a couple of relays, didn't make a difference

OK now I with ya

so you were driving down the road and the truck shutoff

and when you tried to engauge the starter to restart the truck you got nothing right ???

So with that said probably NOT going to be a starter issue

sometimes hard to see whats going on this side of the computer screen

almost has to be a wire harness issue or Bad wire connection or Bad relay something not fulley plugged in something electrical

Have you checked for DTC as in scanned for codes

Yup Blade it just shut off. Pulled over and put it in park and tried to crank again and it did fire up for a few seconds then shut down again. After that it wonldn't engage the starter or read engine and tranny temps. That's the real messed up part. My edge evolution cts can't connect anymore!! I would use and have been using it to check my codes. It tries to read the VIN, as they all do these days, but it can't and will eventually say it can't connect and to contact technical support. Right now the cts is set as only a gauge monitor basically since I returned it to stock for the 500 mile break in. Hence me thinking ECM taking a crap...if it is the ECM I don't know if it was just happen stance that it crapped right now or if something cause it...

there is a PCM power relay and it looks to have a circut to the OBDII Port

The PCM/ECM on these trucks dont go Bad to often and since this has happened imediatly after the work and Majoir work at that makes me think a wire connection or plug not fulley plugged in basicaly something from all the work done and electriccal connections taken apart during the work

OK that makes sense. Thanks blade. Can't happen to tell me what/where said relay or plug is can ya? The only bad thing about technology is there are so many freaking plugs! Lol. The only harnesses we messed with were the ficm to injectors and the other major harness that runs from the driver's side and spider webs across the engine. We will reverify all connections in the morning. I guess it's possible we smacked something during the work, but God we were everywhere in that engine bay. So much for he simple life I guess

OK well we found the problem yay!! The wire harness that runs across the top of the coolant reservoir and underneath the top lip of the engine compartment had a short. The retards that worked on this truck before me and AK found the wires at the air intake manifold sensor plug bare and in need of repair. So instead of doing it right and shrink wrapping the wires individually they just wrapped them up with some crappy electrical tape. When we tore the engine apart and put it back together the wires grounded out on each other! WARNING IF YOU SUDDENLY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE I'VE JUST HAD I'D CHECK THIS HARNESS!! Apartently when certain things in this harness ground out they take your ECM off line and you're screwed. Thanks for all the input guys

Better still, thank you for posting up the fix. So often folks come on here, ask a few questions and disappear after they get some suggestions on how to proceed.

Well Piolet it's my pleasure. In the short time I've owned this truck I've gained a good bit of help and insight from FTE here and I know somewhere some other poor soul is in anguish over the same issue. Hopefully this thread will help some body else some day.
