I think the oil pressure has 2 wires going to it. Dont i need both? And i assume the power to the coil comes from the thicker red wire on the truck harness?

I have only seen a single wire on the oil pressure.

Yes, the fat wire wire in the 4 wire plug is the power feed for the coil.

That plug might not be used on your truck.
Do you know what the harness was removed from?

That is the plug thats on the truck. The plug has 4 wires on it. A thick red one, red w/wht. White w/red, and red w/ yellow. Not sure what year the harness is off of. I started collecting these parts a while back, but it was a v8 with the blue grommet module.

Here are some photos of the 4 wire plug. You should have cut the wires on the other side of the plug at the junkyard. The red w /yellow is unused and is shown coiled and tied with a small black tie wrap.
The fat wire downstream of the black (3 in 1 out) splice is the source for the coil positive. The other two wires are for water/oil senders.

Somebody else had gotten to the harness before me and cut the plug off. Im going to try and use the plug that is on the truck and wire the new harness to that plug. Thanks again for the help. But i still have to find out if the white w/ red is for the oil or water and vise versa for the red w/ white.

Just follow the current wire (water/oil) back to the plug.

Yeah, i guess ill do it that way. I just thought i would ask so i had the new harness allready to go before i took the other one apart. I cant have it sitting for too long. Lol. Thanks again for the help. I think im confident enough to tackle it now. I will let everybody know what i find out and how it works.

well the conversion went pretty smooth. you were right, i followed the red with yellow and didnt need that one. and i just kept the oil and water temp, from the harness that was on there. and i knew which one was for the coil, so not too bad. i still have a few issues. not sure if they are related ,but they werent there before.
