engine swap......

hey all...got a 86 f150. just started a swap from
a 300 six to a 351w.got a prob.the 300 is computer
comtroled.ive got a eariler 351 with older ignition.
my wiring has the 9 pin module. the 351 takes a brain box
how do i get the older dist. and brain box wired to work?
please be specific as far as wire routings......thanks.....

engine swap......
This is a project I did two years ago so I'll save you a lot of time studying and chasing wiring diagrams.
If you have the donor truck/car the motor came out of things are much simpler. You need the coil ,coil/distributer harness and the Daraspark II module from the donor.
Step 1.
There will be a plug on your origonal harness (at the firewall between the master cylinder and inner fender) that has 3 wires (2-white and a red) that mates to one of your Daraspark II plugs (2 wires, red and white).
Step 2.
There will be a plug on your origional harness that has a large (8 gauge?) red wire with a green stripe. Connect this to the same colored wire in the coil/distributer harness.
Step 3.
The 4 wire plug on the Daraspark II module goes to the matching plug on the coil/dist harness.
If you don't have the coil/distributer harness the here's a break down of where each wire goes:
Step 1 is the same.
The red/green wire in step 2 goes to the live side of the coil.
The 4 wires in the second Daraspark II plug:
green goes to the ground on the coil
the other 3 go to the matching colors on the distributer.
Hope this saves you the aggravation I had.
