Waste Gate Adjustment ?

Are all factory waste gates adjustable? I have a late '99 & need to adjust the waste gate while installing an ATS ported housing. Mine doesn't have a lock nut like all the pictures I've seen when people are adjusting them. It also seems the end of the arm is crimped so you can't adjust it.

They are crimped. Some guys have adjusted them by taking it apart and running a tap in the hole. Then add a jamb nut. Otherwise, they are supposed to be pre-set.

Not the answer I was hoping for...lol. Thank you for your knowledge and wisdom yet once again. On a side note, do your gauge lights flicker? When I turn the brightness down mine start to flicker. I wasn't sure if I have a bad connection somewhere or what.

Emery, i adjusted mine by installing the "eye" of the arm in a vise, then used channel locks to hold the rod and turn...sorry bud, cant help with the flicker. maybe look at the ground/s again.

If the gauge dimmer is turned down it will flicker. I have found that there is not a whole bunch of adjustment as they go off with only about 1/3 of the adjustment. You should be able to adjust them, just make small adjustments.

And that will work to tighten it? I have to tighten it about a half inch.

Thanks for all the help. The vice and vice grip tip worked like a charm.
