Transmission Noise
I have a loud noise coming from the clutch/tranny whenever I put the tranny in neutral and let the clutch out, noise.goes away when I depress the pedal. Has newer clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bushing. It's a 3 speed on the column and it shifts okay through the gears. Sounds like a bearing spinning so I removed the inspection cover and checked the throwout bearing with the engine running but that seems okay. And suggestions?

Does the noise happen while you are driving in the lower gears too? If, while driving, the noise stops when you shift into high, the bearing between the input shaft and output shaft is toast. If the noise happens anytime the transmission is spinning, the input bearing or counter shaft bearings, or both, are toast. Sounds to me like a transmission rebuild is in order.
