F250 upfitter switches

Im having a problem hooking up 12v lights to my upfitter switches. All my switches are putting out 26 volts. Any ideas why or what i need to do?

Have a look at this video, and follow some of the instructions and tips for the sheet printout if you need it for reference. This is a pretty goo explanation of how to go about it

Watched video. Thats actually exactly how everything is hooked up. But im still pulling 26 volts from my blunt cut aux wires. Dont understand it. Should be 12 volts. Could a relay be causing this? Im at a lose.

There is NO 26 vdc source in our trucks. Your alternator only puts out about 14.3 vdc. Are you sure you aren't seeing 26 millivolts dc?

ojay lets start with this, what year is your F250 Infor might help to determine what your working on if anything has changed wiring wise.

What kind of lights did you hook up and where are they on the truck. Did you take a positive power source from somewhere, if so where? Reason I ask I am just wondering why your seeing the 26 volts

Have to remember that two upfitters are going to be one amp range and two are a different amp range. I believe that there are two upfitters that are 30 amp, maybe your meter is off and that could be why you are seeing that but more info about your truck and what you are hooking up will help in narrowing things down.

Give some details about where you took a power source, ground source etc. what lights, type, make, specs they need to have for power, operation and that should help narrow things down

I had that thought that maybe the multi meter reading is off and that he might be mistaking amps for Volts

Checked it once i guys said may be reading it wrong. Guess that a lesson to use work lights in this situation. Thanks for your help

No worries, glad to see you got it up and working. Doing things in the dark just adds to the adventures, and lord knows we all have are whoops moments, main thing is you found what was wrong, got it fixed and all is working as it should be.
