P2262 after coolant cap

2008 6.4
20,000 miles
automatic
XLT
2x4

I read over on another site about the $5 dollar engine saver, which is basically swapping the defective OEM collant cap with an after market that will hold the 16 pounds pressure it is designed to hold. I had mine tested and it would keep falling to zero pounds, so I swapped it out.
The next day as I was leaving the house I had the CEL. I went back to the parts store and had them re-test the coolant cap since that was all I have done and now I get a CEL. The cap tested to hold the designed 16 pounds. I had them read the CEL code; P2262. Turbo boost. What??? I drove home and put the original OEM cap back on. drove about 10 miles making a couple stops. The light went off.

I know these sensors and everything are pretty sensative, but could higher coolant pressure have thrown a P2262?

No other problems were experienced; no smoke, power all seemed the same, no noises. I seemed normal.

Any thoughts?

seems resonable that the higher pressure threw the code. I would get the code to show, put the oem cap on and then take it in.

Remove the aftermarket cap before you drop it off so they don't just blame the cap.

Actually, I really didn't want to take it in because I am too cheap for them to come back and say "no trouble found". Caa-ching, that will be $100 bucks.
I just didn't know if anybody else had experienced a similar experience with the coolant cap?

If you have the active code showing (not erased), they gotta diagnose/fix it.

I decided this just didn't make sense. I put the after market cap back on to confirm whether it was the cap that threw the code or not. I drove about 75 miles today, multiple stop and starts. No CEL, no codes, it ran great. I personally don't think the cap had anything to do with it.
Now to watch for another occurrance of the CEL to see if it pops back up again. A coolant cap throwing a booster code just seemed crazy.
Hope it is not the turbo. Obviously more than a $5 dollar coolant cap

Thanks for being my sounding board.
