Alright, on my 03 F250 i have two weird noises that have both recently developed that concern me a little. Number one... whenever i turn (usually at low speeds) i hear a pretty stout "screeeeeech", happens either way, and makes a lot of noise turning while going over a bump. buddy said it sounds like ball joints are going out? didnt rule it out because they are stock with 57k miles on them, but do you think thats what its coming from? its definitely the front end
Second, this only happens on cold starts for about 15-30 seconds. It sounds like its coming from directly under the truck when i start it, and its a grinding type noise. It comes on for about 3 seconds and then goes back off for like 3 seconds. Does that for like i said about 15-30 seconds. Today i noticed it alot because i had my windows down. No idea what this is? but it completely goes away after a short amount of time
Im going to make some videos tomorrow and see if i can get the noise to show up, but for now, anyone have a clue what either of these might be? Thanks in advance!

That's the noise mine was making when one of my ball joints failed. The boot had a small rip and the ball joint was dry inside. It squealed like a pig when turning the wheel. Only noticeable when driving slowly in parking lots and such. Not noticable at all driving at speed..

I'm not sure what that noise is but mine does it too. My Dad's 2002 Explorer does it as well. I've read that its a blend door or something along those lines.
I would check the ball joints by jacking up the front wheel and putting a 2x4 or something under the tire and prying upward. If you can feel or see very much play you should do it sooner than later. This is easier if you have a 2nd person to do the prying while you're looking at the ball joints.
Yeah, that noise does sound pretty bad but who knows haha.
The y-pipe is definitely a great upgrade. You really can feel the difference, I think that helped more than my headers did.
