Clicking from front pass. side

I just replaced the ball joints on my 02 f150 4x4, and also had an alignment done. Now whenever you take a gradual turn, left or right, it makes a clicking/clunking noise. There is no noise when you are going straight. Does any one have any idea's? I installed moog ball joints and followed the little instuctins on the ball joint that says "point inward away from tire", and they are all torqued to spec. So I don't think that it is the ball joint. Could then brakes be making this noise.

Thanks

I would inspect the CV joints in the axles. They can click when turning.

If you don't mind what would that entail? And what would I be looking for? I would assume that I have to remove the clamps and the boot.

Oh and just a side note it does not do it when you are ata stop and make a sharp turn, just on the gradual turns.

Thanks again

You can check for play in them, but they usually only click under a load, I'm thinking, like accelerating around a corner, but this is front wheel drives and not a disengaged 4x4, so I may be way off base here.

Dont the CVs turn all the time? I didnt know these trucks used auto hubs. I thought they disengaged the front axle by disconnecting the front driveshaft at the transfer case? But im not too familar with the 4wd systems on these trucks though.

Interesting clicking noise, I don't know if this is recommended or if you can do it but the experts on line can tell us, can you and is it recommend to add CV grease via lossening CV Boot clamp and pushing some grease in there?

No need to take boot off, just get a grease needle. It would take a while to fill it up, but if you take that clamp off you have to clamp a new one on.

Silicone works great at plugging the hole. If you chase coyotes you end up puncturing a boot now and then. A dab of silicone beats replacing the boot and it holds!
