U-Joint Question
Currently doing a front end rebuild on my 84 F150 4x4 and I got the right side axle shaft out and got the u-joint out yesterday. I checked oreillys and couldn't tell, are the u-joints that work on the front axle shafts the same as the ones used on the drive shafts?
Oreilly's of course offers the basic ones but are there any better ones out there that people like? Anyone used the greaseable ones?

on my 84 3/4 ton d44HD, they are not. the pn for the wheel joint is 1-0297DG for the high end at autozone. the main difference i noticed is the style of the retainers are 3/4 circles that go under the cap instead of the "E" (probably calling it wrong because it isnt a true E clip) that go on top of the cap.

Axle joints are not the same as driveshaft joints. Biggest visual difference, axle joints use "internal" clips (near the cross) while DS joints use "external" clips (at the outer end of the cap). They're also different sizes.
