Thanks for the info. reps sent. I am picking up my V codes this weekend and will need to start planning on the additional parts needed so I will be ready to start soon. Need to send the kids to friend's houses so they won't be hearing the lovely sounds of busted knuckles and colorful language that day!
That Sir, is one good eye you got. Yes, it is our 1984 34W triple axle Avion.
It is another project that I have been working on for a year now. We sold our 2009 38 foot Jayco fifthwheel for a smaller trailer with no slides. Our rv buddies think we are nuts. Have a few more projects to make it real nice but I just put 6 new Maxxis tires on it Tuesdays so the funds dedicated to it this year are low.
I am really excited to get the Hensley installed. I am really hoping and expecting something amazing.
Hey, good luck with that Avion. I also think you will like the Hensley. With the Hensley and the Avion lower center of gravity, I bet you'll find the rig driving stability is better than your 5th wheel was.
If you need any advice on installing the Hensley, let me know. I've installed mine on 3 different trailers. I finally gave up on the orange paint and painted everything black.
Did you use your original rear block with the B-codes?
I have a dilema in that I don't have the original rear block so I am not sure what most people have as stock. I picked up two blocks one it about 1 7/8 inch and the other is a tapered block that is about 2 1/4 to 2 3/8. Not sure which one is right to use with my moded b-codes.
9905,
Neither of my blocks are the F350 tapered blocks that are about 3.75 inches high.
Was your stock rear block square or was it tapered?
Tim M
To be truthfull, I am not 100% sure. I know they had an arrow that pointed to front. So I am 99% postive they had some taper but they were not the big ones from an F350.
On a side note, I did mod my B's because I do tow a lot. I have been suprised how much the rear settles with the mod B's and the RAS. Not sagging in the rear but level.
So I would recommend to anyone that ever plans on towing even once in a while going the coughing up the cash and going the mod B route instead of factory stuff with the F350 blocks.
The trailers I tow are car trailer and a dump trailer not weight distribution set ups. Each trailer is normally filled with firewood, a B series kubota, or a bobcat. I also tow my Avion which has around 1000 pound tongue weight when fully loaded.
