oil pump

does anyone know a way we could modify our gear driven oil pumps to flow more oil and maybe raise driving oil pressure to around 55-60 instead 0f around 35-40 when at operating temp.... i feel that if we could increase oil pressure and oil flow that we could prolong engine life even more on these trucks... or does anyone have any other ideas?

there is no benefit to increasing the oil pressure, but to do so, you shim the pressure relief valve.

He's got it right. My engine builder and I have gone over this in the past and the oil pressure is more than adequate and does not cause a problem. But you can of course add an after market oil cooler to help it out.

The best way to get more life out of these engines is to add a pre-luber system if you are lucky enough to find one. Dry starts are the big killer but most people don't care to get a million miles out of there engine. Maybe out living their truck makes them feel better .
