Driveline Vibration

I have noticed that my rear end is bouncing quite a bit. I have worked my tire guys to death. They have done the road force balancing and even spun the tire to get it right which I never saw ford dealer do. Swapping tires from front to rear didn't help either.

The rear end bounce comes and goes, hot or cold tires, foot on the pedal or not.

I called like a truck shop and he said that it is due to springs being really stiff and all heavy duty does it and can't explain why. Some trucks do it and some don't.

First step I am trying to rule out is possible rear u joint bad? 47k miles. I have not towed in a very long time but it used to do it when back then. With a good load it would not bounce.

I have michelin ltx ms2 tires so I dooubt they are tires. Basic size tires.

Any suggestions?

If the U-joint is good, check for something bent, such as the drive shaft. carrier bearing may be mseed up, but probably not the issue. Rims are in good shape (not bent)? Reduce rear tire air pressure to about 50 psi. You may want to lube the splined end of your drive shaft. Drop the end at the tranny, pull it apart, lube it up good, re-install. Good luck with that. I hope this helps you
