I have an odd question. Been looking for an air kit to put on my early 99 F250 (9/98) they said to find the motors build date on the driver side valve cover there is a sticker that says Aug 1999. anyone seen this before was wondering if the body of the truck sat around or could the motor had to have been replaced.

Do you know if your engine is early, or later 99?
I know the easiest thing to notice is different turbo.
E has a bottom bolt on the turbo cover that is inaccessible behind valve cover.

 

there was a mid year change in the engine. there are early 99 7.3 diesels, and there are late production 7.3 diesels.
