Hey Fellow Missourians,
Been a bit since i've been on here, i recently just puchased my old 68 ford custom cab back!! Second time owning it withing 7 months! The guy blew the engine and now i'm tearing it out to replace it. It was a 360, but I figured i'd go with a 390 because it'll be a direct bolt up to my 4 speed manual. NOw, I'm around the springfield area (fair grove mo 15 mi north), and the only salvage yard i've checked into with engines is bayless. Anybody know any others to check into? OR heck, anybody have any good 360s or 390s? Much appreciated
-Jess
Welcome back around 68 caddy call "Roy Scott's auto salvage/scrap metal" it is in Humansville (just 10 miles north of Bolivar) phone book and ask them......
Stutzman's in Highlandville, right off the east side Hwy 65, south of Ozark......
Yea..ive heard of the one up in humansville. Is only bout an hour away..so not too bad. Many of my buds live by it? Is it that good?
Yes and lets keep that our little secret, at I find alot of truck part that I am looking foe there. And have found alot for FTE folks around the map.
I live 4 miles from it and go there all the time, I like that its still a go look for your self and take your time and get the part you need and all the hardware.
And I usually haggle the price with the lady in the front office, just to make it interesting. As far a good complete motors its a hit or miss when you pop the hood.
Make sure you have all the moter ID info cause it will be all you to locate it and ID it as the one you want then. Then getting it ready to pull is all you too. I am sure Ricky (owners son, BIG guy drives the skidder) would come back in there and pull it??
Just call them or make the drive and ask all the questions you want. The girls in the office do not know what is out in the yard, they will say "come look".
