adding coolant

I just finished flushing my coolant system preparing for an oil cooler change. Had deltas of 15 to 20, after flushing many times over the past week and using vc9 the delta is now 8 to 10, my question is how much will adding the coolant change the temp? I know just water transfers heat better but how much.

As the differencial will be the same, I doubt if it'll bother the delta. It shouldn't change more than a degree or two. My concern is what caused it to begin with. The oil and EGR coolers may still give you problems.

I think that many folks on this site would be interested in your results (re deltas) over the next several thousand miles; I know that I would.

yep. i wold tink it's the egr cooler or oil cooler or both. while i'm in there, i might also change the oil cooler screen, change to updated stc fitting, change out standpipes and dummy plugs. just to ensure she dont "burp" again.
