Connecting rods

Connecting rods
Starting to assemble my flathead V8 and do not remember which way the rods came out. Do the squirt holes in the big end face toward the front or rear of the engine? And do the numbers on the rod caps face up or down?
If all the squirters face the same way then the numbers must alternate between up & down depending on which side of the engine they are on.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again Ross for your response. I guess the tangs are the deciding factor here. That would put the front rod, on each journal, squirting to the front and the rear squirting to the rear of the engine.
Makes more sense that way.
